Well, supposedly I yelled at doublefist before I knew who he was about riding on the wrong side of the street. I don't know if it was effective.
It's a tough call, but I'm trying to be nicer and strike up conversations with people who do things that are bad for cyclists (before I suggest they change). Salmoning is a problem just because you don't get much opportunity unless you want to turn around and set a bad example yourself.
Riding on sidewalks and paths on campus is legal. I won't ride on sidewalks (next to streets) but I will ride on paths (that cross campus between streets), nor will I ride the wrong way down streets on campus (or anywhere, but some people do). I suggest that anyone who rides on campus become comfortable saying "on your left" or getting a bell, but as far as convincing some people that they are scaring the crap out of people, I don't know what to do.
