IMPORTANT NOTICE - PLEASE READ REGARDING ACTIVE POLICE EXERCISE AT NDSUn Thursday, August 7th, NDSU University Police & Safety Office UP&SO) will participate in a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement exercise on the NDSU main campus in the areas of Stockbridge Hall, Churchill Hall and SF Lot.his exercise will involve multiple law enforcement responses including front line police units with officers utilizing equipment and weapons, the Red River Regional SWAT Team utilizing their equipment, gear and weapons as well as the Red River Regional Bomb Squad. This afternoon long exercise, roughly Noon - 4:30 PM, will appear to be a live actual event, however, all safety precautions will be taken to include utilizing unloaded weapons. Every attempt will be made to identify the areas involved as "training exercise" areas only, and we ask that you be aware of this training and its location.In a related matter, this Wednesday, August 6th, at 2:00 PM, we will again test our CENS (Campus Emergency Notification Systems). This will be a test only which will be conducted on the first Wednesday of each month at 2:00 PM, and this test will utilize the NDSU Cable-TV EAS (Emergency Alert System), the NDSU AUDIX phone broadcast (which will NOT light up your voice mail light and will be self cancelled after 30 minutes), and the CAMPUS ALERT email listserv notification to all employees and students with an active NDSU email account. Again, this will be only a test on Wednesday, August 6th.However, on the morning of Thursday, August 7th, we will utilize the NDSU CENS again to send a reminder notice of the Law Enforcement Active Exercise.
