Hey guys, my name is Luke Schields. I have just been looking to get more into biking here in school now that I'm not in swimming anymore and I have a little bit more free time. When I was growing up, mountain biking was pretty much what I did cycling wise because I'm from western North Dakota and we have the awesome Mah Daah Hey trail out there. I actually went to turtle river here on friday which blew my mind. But this last summer I sold my mountain bike and got myself a used road bike that's too small for me, but is actually pretty awesome. Anyway, just looking to do some riding and learn alot more about all types of biking.

Luke, we also have another general public club for the area: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Northern-Star-Cycling-Club/339471792742973 Follow that and the Ski and Bike Shop on facebook, and you should be aware of upcoming events. I know you said you have a road bike now, but this is the next big event in the immediate area: http://endracing.com/end-tombed
We also have Wed night cyclocross practices (see facebook).

Hi Luke, when do you like to ride? How far are you going when you go out on the road?
What size road frame do you think you need?

Thanks for the link to end racing, that's the kind of stuff I'm looking for. But I'll usually ride after class or on the weekends and the longest I usually go is 10-13 mainly on the greenway. Also I'd fit a 58 or 60 cm frame alot better. I'm pushing 6'1" and I think mine I have now is probably 54. I haven't actually measured it or anything, so that's just a guess.

You probably saw JJ's post on the FB page about a longer road ride this weekend. The other thing people do around here a lot is ride gravel. Those rides usually pop up a day or so in advance on the social networks.
Like OUWxGuesser said, there's a weekly cx practice on Wednesday nights at 6 at Lincoln Drive Park. We ride around in circles for a while, climb some hills, and jump some logs. You're welcome to drop by and say hello.
My wife is selling a 56 cm Surly crosscheck frameset if you think that might work for you, but yeah, a 58 would probably work better for you unless you have a short torso.
This guy (http://grandforks.craigslist.org/bik/4079850936.html) takes good care of his stuff and might even have some drop handlebars laying around, but it's some more work if you don't want to singlespeed.

Alright well thanks, I won't be around town this weekend so I won't be able to do the long ride, but I'll try and stop by next wednesday and see whats up. Thanks for all the info guys
